The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) is the medical licensing authority for the province of Ontario. "The CPSO issues certificates of registration to doctors to allow them to practice medicine, monitors and maintains standards of practice. A Postgraduate Education certificate is renewed annually and held during postgraduate medical training at an Ontario medical school. There are terms, conditions and limitations to the certificate".

You can apply to the College online if you completed your teacher education program at a faculty of education in Ontario. When you register, you will be given a registration number and be asked to provide a password. Using your registration number and password, you can log into the Applicants' Area at any time thereafter and monitor the progress of your application. Once you have paid the membership fee and we have received all the required documents, we can review your application.

No. While most of the people who apply to our program are actively enrolled in college, graduate school, or law school, you do not have to be a student to be considered for an internship at NOW. Several of our past interns have simply used the experience to improve their knowledge of women's issues or their grassroots organizing skills. Others have used the experience to see if they would be interested in pursuing a career in feminist activism or the non-profit sector.

If you are currently in your last semester/quarter of college, you may submit an application for most entry-level professional jobs requiring only a college degree. You will be allowed to take the examination, and be placed on the register, but you cannot be appointed until you have actually obtained your degree.

When you apply, you will be asked to specify two colleges by whom you would like to considered for membership. If you leave this area of the application form blank, the Board of Graduate Studies will try and find a suitable college for you. More information about obtaining a college place can be found in the online prospectus.

No - the Board of Graduate Studies does this for you if you are offered a University place. It is University policy that no student who has met all the other conditions of their offer will be prevented from taking up their place purely through want of a college. But you should research the colleges to find which might be appropriate for your needs as a graduate student, and nominate at least two at which you would like to be considered if you receive the offer of an academic place.
