The video codec that is required to decode and display the video may not be installed on your computer. For example, if you are trying to play a file that was encoded using the DivX video codec and you do not have that codec installed on your computer, you will likely hear the audio portion of the file, but you won't see the video. What does the "compression" value under the time lapse mean. There is another compression option under the "Options" icon where I can select my compression codec and select a level of compression but this doesn't change the compression value in the time-lapse section.
