If a student does not receive the minimum score required on the admission test, they have three (3) options: a) Take the test again. Sometimes, if the score is close and the student feels the low score was due to test anxiety or a bad testing day, this option is the easiest and most convenient. However, this is not the option to choose if the deadline for resolving provisional admission status is near. b) Take the other admissions test. Different people will do well on different tests.

GRE: Varies by program. If there is a minimum score required, it would be listed in the catalog under each program's admission requirements. MAT: Only good for the master's in Counseling and doctoral in Nursing; no minimum score has been set.

long as your undergraduate cumulative GPA is above 2.7, test scores are not necessary. It is mandatory for applicants with a GPA below 2.7 to take either one of the tests.

The weight given to standardized admissions exams varies from program to program and discipline to discipline. If your exam score is not reflective of your academic accomplishments and capabilities, it is often a good idea to ask one of your faculty recommenders to address it in the letter. This can be particularly effective if you have taken advanced courses or done independent study with that professor.

Entrance exams are departmental requirements. Check the catalog or department to see if a test is necessary. These requirements are also outlined in the classified graduate application form.

We consider a score of 500 per section and a score of 3.5 on the Analytical Writing to be competitive, although applicants are neither accepted nor denied solely based on GRE scores.

Initially, we advise an international applicant to attach photocopies of his/her score reports with the application, but official reports issued by ETS will be required before full processing of that application will take place. In some instances, the Graduate School will accept certified copies of these reports.

Validity of the MAT score is for that particular session for most MI's, but for AIMA-CME's PGDM & PGDITM programmes, the score is valid for one year.

Mats surround the picture and enhances its charm. There are two forms of mats, peel and stick and insertion. They are explained below.

No. All degree programs require applicants to take either the GRE or the Miller Analogies Test (except the Ed.D. program which is currently not admitting students while it is under revision.)

The GRE and MAT are graduate entrance exams. The GRE is offered through the Counseling and Testing Center on national testing dates. A student also may opt to take a computerized version through the Prometric Center (647-2003). Registration booklets are available in the Counseling and Testing Center, Ellington 202, The MAT is administered through the Counseling and Testing Center and students may register by calling the Counseling and Testing Center at 221-6269.

To obtain information about the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) or the General Record Exam (GRE), please call Testing Services at (937) 775-5771. Students may take the MAT or GRE at other colleges or universities; however, students must indicate on the test application that scores need to be sent to Wright State University.

Applicants whose first language is not English must achieve a minimum score of 550 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

If your scores fall significantly below the recommended scores, as noted in the question above, you should consider retaking the exam. The PhD Admissions Committee will consider your total packet, however, in making a decision about whether to interview you. It is advisable to contact the Director of the Graduate Program if you have any questions about your scores.

When should I apply? The deadline for fall admission is May 15, but we start admitting students early in February. Applications that are received after we have started the admission process have a reduced chance of admission because there will be fewer open positions remaining. For fall applicants, we recommend that the application be mailed no later than mid-January in order to have the best chance of admission. The answer to both questions is yes.
