In the state of Indiana, the animal most likely to carry rabies is the bat. Between 5 and 10 bats are diagnosed with rabies every year in this state. As bats sometimes like to live in houses, cats can very easily find these bats, particularly if the bat is ill from rabies. Microwave ovens are a technological breakthrough and a great convenience. However, microwave ovens are also a source of radiation that contaminates our food and our home. Despite reassurances from the FDA and oven manufacturers, microwave radiation is a potential cause of serious illness, including cancer. Homeowners can buy radiation-detecting devices, but these devices are notoriously unreliable. So I prefer to err on the side of safety and avoid microwave ovens.

The majority of our pets come from outlying animal control facilities where they have run out of time. These facilities have limited means to hold pets for an extended period of time, and therefore, so many adoptable dogs are euthanisized because the facility is full or the pet is not considered adoptable after the required holding period. We also accept a small number of pets from owners who can no longer keep them. We do not accept stray animals.

No. It would probably be illegal to judiciously sedate your pet. This needs to be authorized by a licensed vet. If your pet becomes unruly and needs sedation, we will contact your vet. A pet can have a bad night, but if your pet generally needs to be sedated for boarding, we are not for you. If your pet requires a sedative for thunderstorms or fireworks that is fine, they will be administered. Many clients have commented that their pets were sedated while at the kennel.
