Our engineering team has ingeniously designed the Komfort Pets Carrier around the natural temperature control behaviors of pets. We observed that pets tend to migrate to cool spots (such as tile or concrete floors) in the warm weather and warm spots (such as pavement heated by the sun) during cooler months. We have provided a highly conductive cooled/heated aluminum portion of the floor of the carrier that will come into contact with the pet's paws and underside (conduction sequence).

We are presently working on airline-approved carriers. One option will require planes to be retrofit with power outputs in the storage section of the hull to power the Komfort Pets Carrier. We will continue to work with the airline industry and update you on any progress.

The Komfort Pets Carrier safely and automatically controls the pet's environment by using an efficient patent-pending combination conduction/convection design that complements the pet's natural methods of temperature regulation. The automatic cooling/heating is provided by a thermoelectric device that simultaneously regulates the temperature of a portion of the carrier floor while directing an air stream towards the pet.

The concept prototypes were first exhibited at the Global Pet Expo in San Diego on March 23-25, 2006 to rave reviews from buyers, veterinarians, and animal lovers.

Several thermal controls were implemented to protect the animal, owner and device. The electronics were programmed to operate within a safe temperature range for the animal. When outside of this range the device will shut down. Two additional independent electromechanical switches are installed as backup protection. We also incorporated an alerting mechanism that will flash in an "overtemperature" condition.

These are the three methods of heat transfer: Conduction is heat flow through a material; Convection is heat flow transferred by the movement of air; and Radiation is the transfer of heat flow by way of infrared waves (Radiant Energy).

We have implemented the heating/cooling plate on a portion of the carrier floor to allow the pet to regulate itself and lie on either the regular plastic portion of the floor or the cooled/heated portion of the floor as it wishes. Your pet is ultimately in charge of its own level of comfort.

The Komfort Pets Carrier has been designed and programmed for it to work automatically. You simply need to turn the power on, and it will automatically sense the ambient temperature and activate either the combination cooling or heating mode as programmed in the predetermined veterinarian-recommended set points. Conduction is the primary heat transport process in solids.

This describes the transfer of heat by heating, then moving a substance. Simply put, the heat from our fireplaces is distributed via convection. This is when the air in front of the fireplace absorbs heat, becomes bouyant and rises to the ceiling. This draws cooler air behind it, mostly along the floor, which in turn, absorbs the heat and rises up, pushing the already warmed air along the ceiling.
