Why do you use separate aluminum floor and bulkhead panels in the cockpit?

FIA Frequently Asked Questions
We have tried to duplicate the construction of a "real" car as much as possible, and avoid the dune buggy syndrome of a single interior shell. This is a bit more work to put together, but saves weight and allows much more design flexibility. Our aluminum tunnel is removable for service, and we have an access panel behind the seats for rear brake service. Separate footboxes also allow us to create a stronger structure to support the cowl and door mounting hinges.

What are these cockpit panels made of?

FAQ - Cockpit Simulations
The panels are made of 1/16" (.0625" or 1.58mm) plastic. They are very tough, but also flexible. This means you will need a frame of some sort to mount them in. Many of our customers are using a wooden frame in their cockpit enclosure, and the panels work very well. One or two vertical braces are desirable for a Boeing-size MCP, as an example. Because of the design using plastic, the panels can easily be back-lit. Just add a few 12 volt bulbs and some white diffuser, and you're all set.

Do your cockpit panels come assembled or as kits?

FAQ - Cockpit Simulations
For the most part, assembled. If you specifically want all of the parts shipped loose with the panel, we can arrange that too. But we usually ship them with all of the parts in the panel. TOP OF PAGE

Underfloor Technology Frequently Asked Questions
Once the concrete floor slab has been sealed to reduce dust, the pedestals are laid out according to the predetermined grid and glued (sometimes bolted for seismic purposes) to the slab. EPLF e.V. - FAQ - Questions and Answers
Professionals can replace badly damaged flooring elements so well that it is not possible to tell the difference visually within the floor as a whole. Special suction units are available for lifting (suctioning) the individual panels up and out of the floor, after which the new panel can then be inserted. Can I Use Aluminum Foil?

MHP Frequently Ask Questions about gas barbecue grilling
Aluminum foil is probably the most convenient accessory of all. Foil can be used to cook food on or in. It also serves as a drip pan and heat deflector. Vegetables cook best when wrapped in foil. Foil holds in natural liquids, and foods cook moist and tender. Delicate foods such as fish fillets and seafood may be cooked on foil placed directly on the cooking grid. When spit-cooking foods of uneven shape, smaller parts that may cook too fast, may be wrapped in foil.

Can I use an aluminum pot for brewing?

FAQ 5-7 Answers @ Williams Brewing
It is best not to use aluminum for brewing, as aluminum reacts with acids in wort. This can lead to off-flavor formation, and some believe the trace amounts of aluminum which end up in the wort are not good for you, although this has not been proven. It is best to use stainless steel or enameled steel when brewing.
