Martingale Collars are also regularly referred to as Humane Choke collars. This type collar is designed to tighten but not strangle your hound. It is not a indefinite choke but is only intended to keep you dog safely in his/her collar. If correctly adjusted it will only tighten enough to prevent you hound from backing out of his/her collar. Sighthounds typically wear this style of collar because their heads are smaller that their necks but All Breeds of dogs can wear these collars.
