All firefighters assigned to a shift, are required to stay together as an engine company and be ready to respond to an emergency at all times. Driving the fire truck to the gym, inspections, etc. they can respond from any location to an emergency.

Typically, the earlier you begin the scheduling process the better. Because of their high demand, the top speaker's calendars tend to fill quickly. For the most part, if you start looking for a speaker 6 months to a year before your program we should have little problem with finding the right presenter for your event. Firefighters are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Currently, our department works what is called a 3/4 schedule. This means our firefighters work a 24-hour shift and are then off for 24 hours. This rotation continues for three shifts then firefighters have four days off. We have three shifts that rotate through this schedule.

A firefighter’s shift is 24 hours long. His schedule is on a nine-day cycle. For example he is on a shift, off a shift, on a shift, off a shift, on a shift, then off for four days, then the cycle starts over. It all averages out to a 56-hour work week. We have 3 shifts (A-shift, B-shift, and C-shift).

NAIOP has an open, on-going call for proposals from speakers on education topics for 2007 NAIOP national and chapter programs.

Please call at least 2 weeks prior to your event. Large events or events that require a longer time of involvement may require more than 2 weeks notice.

Because there are numerous tasks, such as rescue, ventication, and fire suppression, that must take place simultantiously. Sufficient manpower is essential to provide safety to our firefighters and to ensure efficient rescue as fire suppresion operations.

Nancy’s Advisory Council is careful to weigh all speaking requests within specific parameters as a spiritual protection for Nancy since radio preparation and production, writing, and ROH Conferences take up most of her time. They recommend that she speaks at only a few engagements each year. They also select events where she can minister to the most women possible, as well as choose locations that cover the broadest spectrum of her radio audience.

When we work with you, there are no surprises. Most speakers have very basic a/v requirements - microphone and podium. However, some speakers have more extensive technical riders. Our Event Coordinator handles every detail and will inform you of any of these "additional items" far in advance.

Many of our speakers are available to speak with you directly before and after booking. We will work with you and the speaker to develop a dynamic and memorable program.

Absolutely. We always insist that speakers get in touch, weeks in advance of the event, with the person in charge of the program. Most of the professional speakers we recommend are accustomed to personally speaking with the organizers of the event.
