Yes, you may plead not guilty by completing an Affidavit of Defense and filing it with the Clerk's Office. A bond is required to be posted with the Clerk's Office before the Affidavit can be reviewed and ruled on by the court. You will not need to appear before the court. Once a citation is written it is forwarded to Crawford County Municipal Court the next business day. Wait to receive your paperwork from the court. Most courts will mail you a courtesy notice about two to three weeks after you receive a citation. This notice will inform you of the bail amount you must pay for the citation as well as your traffic school eligibility. Most courts will charge an administrative fee to allow you to complete traffic school in addition to the bail amount. Make sure to pay the required fees by your issuing court's payment due date.
