Our incredible CEREC system allows us to perform the entire crown procedure in one visit, eliminating the need for a temporary crown and second visit. However, we are available to help you if a temporary crown does come off or break.

Call our office immediately so we can assist you; if it's after hours, you will be referred to the on-call doctor. Be sure to save the temporary-a "zip lock" bag works well-and try not to chew on the affected side of your mouth.

Avoiding hard or sticky foods will keep the temporary crown in place. If the temporaries do come out call our office for re-cementation or apply a small amount of denture paste to the temporary.

Unless it is painful or a cosmetic problem, there is no immediate concern. If it happens during business hours, we should be able to see you immediately. If after hours, we will let you be the judge, but generally, if it is OK with you to wait a few days, it is OK with us. However, we do not want a temporary to be off for more than 3 days. Non-narcotic analgesics are the most commonly used drugs for relief of toothache or pain following dental treatment.
