Offset printing works with all types of line art, close registration of ink colors, bendays, half tones, duo-tones, and 4-color process images. This process is ideal for full ink coverage, reverses, and bleeds. With letterpress, the ink is impressed on the paperboard or tissue sheet. It works best with simple messages and designs of 1 to 2 colors.

It depends. It is important to realize that the Offset printing and Silkscreen printing are two processes fundamentally different. They are used for different purposes. Offset printing will be used for complex artwork with gradual colours and many details. And Silkscreen printing will be used for simpler artwork with a precise number of colours. For smaller quantities (under 500) it is usually most economical to go with a photocopier or digital color copier. There are usually limitations to certain types of paper and specifications. If you need larger runs (500 or more) or specific requirements (i.e. high gloss paper, foil stamping, full bleeds, etc.) the offset printing press may be the best (or only) choice.
