Infrared light is a part of the light spectrum that is not visible to the human eye. When there is insufficient visible light to see an object a Swann Black Knight camera automatically activates its IR mode and sees the light from the IR LEDs using its IR image sensor. The resulting image is displayed as a black & white picture on your screen.

Airbags can be deadly to infants in rear-facing carseats, and to children 12 and under using the seatbelts. The front seat is generally not recommended for children 12 and under. The airbag MUST be disabled if you must use a rear-facing child seat in the front. Some vehicles without a rear seat, especially pickup trucks, have an on/off switch for this purpose. If a child must ride in the front, you should also move the front seat as far back as it will go.

Much like Bluetooth Infrared (IR) wireless data transmission is also employed in short-range communication among personal digital assistants (PDAs), mobile phones, FAPtops, PCs and printers. Its main differentiation from Bluetooth is that IR is a line sight communications technology, meaning that the two device IR transceivers must have plain line of sight in order to communicate.

This is a difficult question to answer as the infrared source is a solid state photo diode which provides incredible performance. To try and put a value on the lifetime, we first started supplying the AMS (predecessor to the Microdust) in 1989, which used the same diode and none of these have ever been returned due to lamp failure. We would estimate an MTBF of 15-20 years.
