There are several areas available in the Library for laptop hookup. In addition, wireless connections are also available. Please ask for assistance at the Circulation Desk.

Go to the Computer Labs Homepage at http://appl003.lsu.edu/ocsweb/palhome.nsf/index or select it from the A-Z link under the main LSU homepage http://www.lsu.edu. Click on the link at the bottom right under the paragraph beginning with "Wireless Printing now available" or goto the following page located at http://lsu-tut/index.htm. Select "Middleton Labs" from the map. Decide which printer the job should be sent to and click on that icon.

You can print to our public printer network by first downloading the installation file at http://library.mcmaster.ca/copying/pubpharos.exe which is 12.7MB. You can either select Open/Run at the dialog box to start the installation or you can save the file first to your harddrive and then run pubpharos.exe from that location. If you select Open/Run you may get a security warning which you can click the Run button.

One of the most frequently asked questions is how to print from the computers in the library as well as the other various computer labs located across campus. The printing system, which is called Pharos, seems like a complicated method but is actually quite simple and easy to learn. Yes. Anyone with a laptop/PDA can connect to the Internet using the library's wireless connection if it is equipped with a wireless card. You can also connect to the Internet using a wired campus network port. There are about 10 wired ports throughout the library.<

The library has laptop computers available for students for 4-hour checkout periods for in-library use only. You will need both a current UW-Whitewater student ID and a state ID such as a driver's license. Laptop computers are also available for overnight checkout by UW-Whitewater faculty and teaching academic staff only.

Yes. Printing will default to the LIBR-REF2 printer on the 3rd (Main) floor of the library. You will need to use your Tiger Card to release your print jobs.

Printing from personal laptops is not currently available. However, we have resources available for you to move files from your laptop to a library computer for printing purposes. Please stop at the Reference Desk for assistance.

Yes on both counts - in Open Computer Lab 1, on the lower level of the Library there is a flatbed scanner and a computer with a zip drive. For assistance in using either resource, please speak with the Library Lab Specialist, who is available during the day, from 8:30-4:30, Monday through Thursday, and Friday 8:30AM-4PM. If you are not familiar with either technology you may wish to set up an appointment, by contacting the lab at 978-630-9538.

You may use your laptop anywhere in Bobst Library. Wireless computing is available throughout Bobst Library via NYURoam.

Yes. All printouts can be picked up at the circulation desk, on the first floor of the library. The cost is 15 cents per page.

Each semester $18 is placed on to your Buzz card for computer printing. You may send a print job from any computer and then go to the printer station to swipe your card and select your job for printing.

Yes. There are wireless capabilities in two places in the library: at the front of the library and in the atrium area. Access requires an IEEE 802.11b compliant network card. The card may be purchased at the university bookstore or from most electronic stores. Please access the Information Technology site through ERNIE for specific directions on how to set up your computer to work with ERAU's wireless environment.
