Generally, each day after the completion of the shoot, the production audio rolls will be sent to an audio post house for transfer to "dailies" form. If the film is being edited filmstyle, using 35mm mag audio and film dupes (as opposed to electronically, using an Avid or Lightworks edit system), the production select takes will be transferred to 35mm mag film.

OFVM run two main introductory production evening courses: Shooting Video and Experimental Film and Video. On both courses you learn how to make films by actually making one, but they each have a different approach. Shooting Video is our main digital video production course (we also run an intensive version called Shooting Break), it concentrates on making a narrative based digital video production (i.e. a drama or a documentary).

We returned to Baghdad in early August of 2003 thinking that we would work on the project for six weeks. We got further than we thought we would more quickly than we had anticipated. Because we'd gotten further faster than we expected, and because we found the story was not being covered, we decided to continue the reporting until we had a sense of how things were changing over time and there was some closing point for the story. That took ten months.

No. Students are allowed to checkout our equipment for shoots off campus and use our production facilities with no extra costs or lab fees. The only extra costs students incur while producing their projects in the Television Arts program consist of purchasing blank video tape/film for their productions, feeding their cast and crew while on shoots, and paying for miscellaneous expenses such as fuel, postage, lodging, or liability insurance when needed.

A film production background is preferable for admission to the graduate film program. While academic background is important, our Admissions Committee focuses on the quality of the visual portfolio and Thesis Project abstract.

Gone Off Deep began pre-production in May of 2002, shooting the first footage at Burning Man '02. Continually scripts are evaluated as potential Cavalier Films projects. Several projects are usually in various stages of consideration and when they are ready to bloom into production, the intense work of gearing up for filming and bringing a film to the world begins. Yes, I shoot both black and white and color. The black and white is shot on real black and white film and is not converted from color or printed from chromegenic B&W film. The ratio of color to B&W varies depending on the preference of my client. The typical ratio is 85% color and 15% B&W. I can vary the ratio to 35% of either format to 65% of the other. (Some clients prefer more B&W) but I don't , however like shooting 50/50.

This is accomplished with a wireless video transmitter that sends the image to a receiver connected to a portable monitor. We offer a small UHF video transmitter-receiver combo that is available as option 2 on our price sheet. For example, a men’s stock large TLS350 has a black body with black overlay and royal blue piping, and can be shipping in about a day. A Select suit is a suit that is one of our stock sizes and the diver wants a custom color, a boot style or size change and/or neoprene seals.
