Where can I get a shower after the run?

Hardrock Hundred FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
In '94 you could get a shower at the Teller Hotel in Silverton for a couple bucks. I assume this is still the case. This is ordinarily an easy walk from the start/finish, but I wouldn't want to do it after the run! There are no showers at the South Mineral Creek campground. In '94 I carried one of those disposable cameras with me during the run, and it was well worth it. This is one really spectacular area! CCMIS Frequently Asked Questions About MIS
Dr. Woods uses a 'plastic surgery' closure of both the MIS total knee and MIS total hip replacement wounds. This is essentially a single running stitch of dissolvable suture material that is woven from side to side down the length of the 2 ? to 5 inch hip incision or the 4 to 6 inch knee incision. This is in turn covered with a plastic paint-on dressing called Dermabond. There are no sutures to take out or that would allow infection to get under the skin. See similar questions...

When may I shower?

Michael L. Brownstein, M.D., FACS
Normally you may shower after all the sutures are removed. You will receive instructions that you should shower from behind to protect the healing grafts from the direct stream of the shower water. Then you carefully pat the chest dry and reapply dressings (supplied) to the graft sites to protect them from the binder, and then your clothing for approximately two additional weeks. Mystic Tan FAQ
We recommend that you wait at least 4 hours after tanning to give the DHA enough time to fully set. If you shower earlier, you may diminish the intensity of the tan. When you do shower, the initial tan created by the water-soluble bronzer will wash off, but the DHA will remain and create your long-term tan. See similar questions...
