The Department of Justice is required to record summary arrest, detention, disposition, and personal identification information when submitted by a law enforcement agency or court of this state.

Criminal history record information is defined in AS 12.62.900(8) as information that contains: 1) past conviction information, 2) current offender information, and 3) criminal identification information (fingerprints, photographs, and other information or descriptions) that identify a person as having been the subject of a criminal arrest or prosecution.

Under Florida law, an individual arrested in the State of Florida may be eligible to have their criminal arrest record sealed. You should also be advised that in certain situations the record can be directly expunged. Expunging a record involves the erasure of the records while sealing a record results in the records being sealed and out of view for a period of time. Complete criminal history records, including non-public information, may be released only to persons authorized by the individual or by entities that have been given statutory authority by the legislature.

A criminal history record (background check) can be obtained in person with a valid government-issued photo identification card (driver's license, passport, personal identification card). Third party requests for criminal history records require a notarized authorization from the record subject. A local records check is limited to arrest and disposition information on file with this office; it does not include arrest information from any other law enforcement agency.

Information contained in records collected and maintained by agencies of criminal justice, the subject of which is a natural person, consisting of descriptions which identify the subject and notations of arrests, detention, indictments, information or other formal criminal charges and dispositions of charges, including dismissals, acquittals, convictions, sentences, correctional supervision occurring in Nevada, information concerning the status of an offender on parole or probation, and informat.

The criminal history record includes the subject's identification data, arrest data (including arresting agency, date of arrest, and charges), final judicial disposition data submitted by a court, prosecutor or other criminal justice agency, and custody information if the offender was incarcerated in a Georgia correctional facility.

Access to Criminal History Records in California is limited strictly to law enforcement agencies for law enforcement purposes only and to the person who is the subject of the record to ensure that it is accurate and complete.

You can request a search of the records of charges filed in Baton Rouge City Court by calling the Records Division at (225) 389-8388. There is a $20 record check fee charged for this search.

You must request a Criminal disposition in writing accompanied by a fee of $10.00 per name. Mail your request and check or money order payable to the Livingston Parish Clerk of Court to:

Court records display the last known address for all parties on open cases. Parties whose addresses are listed on the court record should keep the court informed of their current address. Parties should provide their address information to the clerk of circuit court in the county where their case is filed. Addresses are updated on closed cases only if there is continuing court activity on that case.
