The vast majority of students here are assigned to standard double rooms. We do, however, have a handful of rooms that are over-sized and designed to accommodate three students. The fee for these rooms is slightly less. These rooms are not double rooms that have been converted to triples to accommodate overcrowded conditions. Single rooms are scarce on the Midtown campus and in several of our Westside buildings.

A double has one large bed (usually a queen size), big enough for two or for one person who likes a lot of room. Thus, when mentioned in the price info, "Double Room Single Occupancy" it implies a normal double room (with a large bed), but only authorised to accomodate one person. A Twin room type is meant for two adults in a room with either two single beds, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. A Triple room type is for a maximum of three adults in a room. The bed configuration could be two singles with a rollaway, a queen-size bed with a rollaway or a king-size bed with a rollaway. All of our double rooms are equipped with one double bed. Should you wish to receive a room with two single separated bed instead it will be better to write this wish in the field note of the reservation form or, any case to inform us before the arrival. A Single has one thick wire, a Double is a two thinner wires, a Triple has three thinner wires than the Double, a Quad has four thinner wires, and so on. So, an 8 Double will have TWO (Double) thin wires wrapped around the pole 8 times. A Single provides harder acceleration (torque), while a Quad will provide a much smoother power band. The 8, 12, 10, 14, or 16 turn motors will provide a lot more rpm than a stock 27 turn (less wire means less weight), but, obviously, the 8 will have the best rpm (typically). We do our best in trying to avoid triple rooms, however, triple rooms are created when student demand exceeds the number of available rooms. A triple room means a third person will be assigned to a room intended for two people. Students are assigned to triples based on their application date.
