User can obtain cost estimate for the installation of new air-conditioners from OED and write, through Head of Department, to the Office of Finance for fund approval. Justification should be made in the request. Upon the approval of the request, user is to liaise with the respective Zone Property Managrer for the installation works. Yes. Air conditioners require more air flow than furnaces and it may be necessary to add more ductwork. Also, local codes require that your ductwork be insulated in attics and crawl spaces, and your electrical service may need to be upgraded. Poor cooling. If your air conditioner isn't putting out much cold air, it could be low on refrigerant. But an A/C system can still produce cool air even if it has lost up to 50% of its original charge of refrigerant. Even so, output will be reduced. If the system is working properly, it should blow air that is approximately 50 degrees cooler than the ambient air temperature. Poor cooling, however, doesn't necessarily mean the refrigerant is low. You might have another kind of problem.
