Pharyngitis or Tonsillitis is caused by germs (bacteria or viruses) that enter through the nose or the mouth. These germs are usually spread in the air by other children or adults who have these conditions. Sometimes, germs which cause these infections are transferred from one person to another by sharing toys or other objects. Direct mouth contact such as kissing may also spread these infections.

Tonsils help the body’s immune system to filter the germs, bacteria and viruses that enter through the mouth or nose. When the immune system is weakened, the tonsils can get infected. HD is not transferable like the flue. In my opinion I feel that it is hereditary through genes. Many doctors say that's true then there are some that say it is just luck of the draw.. In many cases there is a trace of HD in the family somewhere. It may have been four generations back, but it was still there.
