The image file is read only and hidden. The file does not get accidentally deleted. The chances of virus corruption are remote.

There are a variety of problems that may be causing this. Here are a couple of the most common. If you have a Mac running OS X, the default unzip utility (Stuffit) does not deal well with those Archive ZIP files that are 'compressed on the fly'. The storage period of your images on our server is unlimited. However, if your image has not been accessed for more than 1 year, it will be deleted from our server.

If you deleted the file in the Recycle Bin or emptied the Recycle Bin, refer to File System Issues for more information. If your file cannot be found during find operation, the deleted file/directory may be still on disk but is no longer referenced by an existing folder. In this case you will need to run the 'Find lost data' search. In the case this process does not find your file you may need to run the 'Full scan/ find format' search. Certain BitTorrent clients "pre-allocate" the file when you start downloading. This is why it seems the file is already complete on your harddrive. But don't be fooled by this: the contents of the file is still empty. Your BitTorrent client will "fill in" the parts of the file as they come in. Only when it says Download Succesful (or similar message) is the file complete!

Generally, it is not necessary to delete a picture that you no longer have use for, or one that you accidentally upload. This is because ImageLord has enough hard drive space to accommodate your needs.

Reformatted volumes can be recovered using the Long Search. NTFS volumes are highly recoverable. On reformatted FAT volumes, only contiguous files can be recovered. Deleted or corrupted volumes can be recovered using the Quick or Long Search and selecting the corresponding disk number. Both NTFS and FAT file systems are highly recoverable.
