What are Normals?
FAQAlso known as standards, these are a form of verbal shorthand that our clients use to save time. As an example, in the physical exam section of an H&P you could say "head normal" and our transcriptionists could enter Head: No scalp lesions or skull deformity. Pupils are equal, round and reactive to light and accommodation. No scleral icterus. Extraocular movements are intact. There is no ptosis. The conjunctivae are clear. There are no nasal polyps, epistaxis or purulence.
