DCOM dynamically allocates one port per process. You need to decide how many ports you want to allocate to DCOM processes, which is equivalent to the number of simultaneous DCOM processes through the firewall. You must open all of the UDP and TCP ports corresponding to the port numbers you choose. You also need to open TCP/UDP 135, which is used for RPC End Point Mapping, among other things. In addition, you must edit the registry to tell DCOM which ports you reserved.

You need to be able to establish outgoing connections on ports 4038 and 4039. For optimal performance, you need both incoming and outgoing connectivity on port 4137. You may not change the ports that BitWise uses. Allowing different ports would substantially detract from the ease of communication among BitWise users.

The main port used by P2P-Radio is the port 2000 (UDP & TCP). This port must be accessible from the Internet. The port 2001 (TCP) is used for communicating with your media player. The ports listed above are the default Gong settings. The ports can be changed by editing the gong.ini (for the client) and gongserver.ini (for the server) files. WMI by default generates logs based on errors. Logs are located in the %windir%\system32\wbem\logs directory. More verbose logging can be enabled by changing HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WBEM\Cimom\Logging to 2, or disabled by setting it to 0.

Very basically, if you have a low ID, it means that computers can't connect directly to you from the internet, and that your machine needs to initiate all connections outward. This is caused by either a firewall, a router that doesn't know what to do with incoming connections, or a bad server, and means that the server you are connected to needs to tell you when someone wants you, and you have to then connect to them, rather than having them connect directly to you.

SNMPc uses TCP ports 165 through 168 by default to communicate with remote pollers and consoles. You can change the ports it uses by editing the SNMPC.INI file and changing the PORT_XXX entries in the [SNMPcConfig] section. Make sure you set the same values on both the server and remote computers. If you are using the java console, you will have to allow port 12421 (and 31415 for remote telnet) as well.

Some ISP's throttle bandwidth on these ports, and some trackers have banned them because of that. So choose a port of your own between 20,000 and 60,000. In order to change the port all you need to do is choose a port number that is not black listed and enter it in your router. Now open them up in your router or firewall as covered above, and then change the settings in your client to reflect the new ports being used. On the SRB server server-side, you must open the port that the srbMaster is listening on, plus a set of 100 or so configurable data ports (described below).
