Routers work much like bridges, but they listen to the upper network layer protocols (OSI layer 3) rather than physical layer (OSI layer 1) protocols. As long as the router is 802.11b or g compatible then you should be able to have your wireless connection set up. Make sure the 'encryption' is not set too high. Some users might tend to set it at 128bit encryption and that slows down the time for the bandwidth to go through your wireless connection.
