Videodelic doesn't need a lot of memory. The minimum memory partition is 24 megabytes which will be adequate for most projects. If your project uses a lot of pictures or uses QuickTime movies, you will want to increase the partition size.

Videodelic can run on any PowerMacintosh. However, because real-time visual processing is very CPU-intensive, on some older machines, the performance may not be acceptable. We recommend a 200 MHz PowerPC 604 or faster processor. Live video input and QuickTime movies require more horsepower for playback than projects that use still images as source material. A 300 MHz or faster G3 processor is recommended (but not required) for the best results with QuickTime movies and video input.

These days, when one buy a PC, it's primary intended purpose is for speed and performance especially capable of incredible performance for huge graphic and multimedia application. Yes, the precise details about how to use Videodelic with a projector depends primarily on your computer hardware (i.e. what model of Macintosh you have and what, if any, additional, video input/output your monitor/video card has) and your projector. Videodelic sends the performance (called Overdrive) to a monitor. Not directly. But QuickTime 4 makes it possible to convert mp3 files into files that can be used as soundtracks by Videodelic (in the Montage Room). The reason is simple. While mp3 files take up very little hard disk space, they are CPU-intensive to decode. Therefore they are not suitable for using directly with Videodelic. You can use the QuickTime player (and many freeware utilities) to convert mp3 files into AIFF files. Videodelic uses 16-bit, 44.

I'm trying to populate a Cluster database. The loading process terminates prematurely and I get an error message like this one: ERROR 1114: The table 'my_cluster_table' is full

The smallest amount of memory derives from the screen parameters. If you have 320x320 screen and 65000 colors (2 Bytes per pixel) then the bitmap covering the whole screen takes around 200K. So the loaded image will be in most case larger than the screen. Roughly 500K should be enough for most images. If the image needs more memory than available, then it will be downscaled. (To 1/2, 1/4 or 1/8.) Further you have to add the memory for the icon cache: 10K per icon (counting large thumbnails).

The minimum recommended memory is 32 MB. More is always nice, particularly if you intend to do custom editing of your music.
