You can only ride your scooter on the road if its an 8mph model and is fitted with lights, indicators, hazard flashers auxiliary brake. This does not mean that a scooter with lights ect. but is only capable of 4mph can be on the road except when crossing from one side to the other.

Yes. The RTA requires you attend a pre-learner course. The course is two half days of training and requires no previous experience. You will be provided with a helmet, gloves and scooter (or motorcycle). Each lesson is 3-4 hours of instruction with 1 hour riding time. The lessons are divided between two thirty-minute sessions. Your session starts when you put on your wakeboard and jump into the water. The 5 to 10 minutes traveling to nice water does not count as your lesson time.
