Start the Network Control Applet by clicking on Network from Control Panel (Start - Settings - Control Panel) or right click on Network Neighborhood and select Properties Select "Obtain an IP address from a DHCP Service". DHCP settings will only override IP address and subnet mask locally configured. If you have configured DNS, WINS etc locally then the DHCP configuration will not overwrite it.

The env variable ${XPSERVERLIST} contains a list of display identifiers (seperated by whitespace) to tell the application where it can find the Xprt servers. Usually ${XPSERVERLIST} is set by the profile startup scripts (e.g. /etc/profile or /etc/profile.d/xprint.sh) using the output of "/etc/init.d/xprint get_xpserverlist". Every server on a computer has a unique port number. The second server must be on a different port number than the main server. The standard port number for web servers is 80. However, MyWebServer enables the user to select any port number.

A common mistake when starting the client is to give the wrong server host name. The last synergyc command line option (Unix) or the "Server Host Name" edit field (Windows) should be the host name (or IP address) of the server not the client's host name.

Unfortunately, some good e-mail clients don't allow the configuration of the port, or, as Eudora, keep it hidden from normal users, preventing them to search for PostArmor on the standard port it is listening at (8110). Port trunking is connecting two switches with multiple links that act as one high-bandwidth link. Up to four port (full- or half-duplex) can be used for each trunk on a Switch 2000 or Switch 800t. Yes. A client can connect to multiple servers providing different services, and/or multiple servers providing the same service. To use multiple servers with the same interface, the client must obtain a binding handle for each server and use explicit handles in the RPC.

Yes. If you close the VPN Client window (the red bullet), the connection will disconnect, but you can minimize it (the yellow bullet) and keep the connection alive. If you want to have the window automatically minimized upon connection, click the Minimize on Connect box in the VPN Client/Preferences menu.

The easiest way is to used DHCP. This is the default for Windows operating systems. Under control panel network icon, select the TCP/IP properties and ensure "Obtain an IP Address Automatically" is selected. The PC will then obtain an address from the firewall the next time it is rebooted. If you are using static IP's then you will need to set the PCs IP address manually.
