The first thing to check is your equipment - disconnect your answering machine and check for dial tone again. If you still do not have dial tone try another phone cord. Lastly try a different telephone. If these attempts do not yield a dial tone, please submit a Help Request to the ResNet Office by phone 404-894-0044, by email support@resnet.gatech.edu or via the on-line Help Request.

Try the solution in Question 1 (above) first. If someone in your apartment has accidentally plugged their computer into the phone port it will prohibit dial tone throughout the apartment. Please check this before calling the ResNet office.

If you are a Smartlinx ATA user, ensure that the cables are properly connected and internet connection is properly established. Users should also ensure the IP Phone is registered and currently online. If you need any assistance, contact Matallo Support.

There are two ways to call: via pulse or tone-dial. Servers only understand tone-dial. If you press a key on your phone pad you should hear a peep-tone.

If you are using a cordless telephone, it may not have a normal analogue dial tone, it is more of a buzz. Check to make sure the Ethernet link light on the back of the engin Voice Box next to the 'LAN' port is green and blinking. If you do not get a dial tone, try rebooting your home network. (Power down router/switch; Cable Modem; and engin Voice Box and power back on)

Please check that your Internet Connection is active and is working. If your connection is working, refer to the troubleshooting guide under the support section of this website for full details. You will be required to forward a port or ranges of ports on your router in order to use the service. You can refer to the support and configuration guides on the website for some generic information about each device, however as a VoIP provider, Voise cannot provide support for third party routers.

If you're using a cordless phone, make sure the battery is charged and the base station is plugged in.

The most obvious cause is that you've neglected to plug your telephone line into your modem. Double check to make sure it's plugged in securely. A common problem is plugging your telephone line into the wrong jack on your modem. Many modems have two jacks, one for the telephone line and one for a telephone handset. On some of these modems (e.g., USRobotics), you won't be able to get a dial tone or be able to use the modem if you plug the telephone line into the telephone handset jack.

A. First make sure your NetCall Voice Gateway is registered and locked on (the "Light Bulb" icon must be on solid). You have to press the # button on your phones touch pad before you can make NetCall Digital Telephone calls. Also make sure to check your wiring is correct, check the quick installation guide for details. If still no dial tone reboot your modem, then reboot your NetCall Voice Gateway and router if you have one.

The phone is connected to the blue and red voice ports via RJ11. If you have subscribed for 1 mio Voice service, it should be plugged onto the red port. If you have signed up for a secondary line, it should be plugged onto the blue port. Ensure the mio Box is powered on i.e. the indicator should be green.

Your computer's modem is not receiving a dialtone from your phone line. Possible causes of this error include: Cable not plugged into the computer, or plugged into the modem "phone" connection instead of the "line" connection.

I have said before, I use a Guild Hartke bass head. It is made to be loud and clean. It has an effects loop, a graphic eq and compression. It's like it was made for a huge clean tone.
