StockerYale's low power laser line projectors have a pseudo-Gaussian widthwise intensity profile analogous to that of many gas lasers. The thickness (or width) of the line is measured at the 1/e^2 points of this profile. A chart of LINE THICKNESS VS PROJECTION DISTANCE can be found in many of our Laser data sheets and brochures. In order to guarantee accuracy, the values measured were carefully taken using a Merchantek beam profiler.

The most important thing to understand about the thickness of stone picks is that they are on a whole different scale than plastic picks.
