When two computers use the same IP address on the Internet, there is an IP conflict. Both computers would have networking problem. Do not hard code the IP Address in your computer. Select 'Obtain an IP address automatically' in the TCP/IP setting. Verify that the IP conflict does not come from having two machines on your own LAN configured with the same IP address (in the Mac TCP/IP control panel). If you are connected with a cable/DSL modem using the "Single Ethernet" configuration your LAN is directly attached to the cable/DSL network. Yes, but this is the very nature of direct connections. BitWise bypasses the server, so your PC must know where to send the messages (i.e. what computer on the Internet). Many different web servers are used for IP detection. Also some of them are returning a wrong IP ! Check in the log file (DULog.txt) the one to disable. Then, disabled them in the "Edit IP detection settings" dialog box. Maybe, a wrong Ip can be detected when a VPN connection is ON. (DU can detect the VPN IP instead of your real WAN ip).
