Asphalt is a flexible surface that is more likely to accept shifting due to weather extremes and can resist cracking commonly associated with other paving systems. Vehicle braking/accelerating and steering will not shift or break StreetPrint?, as often happens with brick pavers.

Concrete is an inexpensive and durable option, but it will crack. There is no way that we can prevent oil from dripping on concrete pavers. Yet, because pavers are denser than regular poured concrete, they will be easier to clean if the stain is cleaned soon after it happens. If you are working around your paver patio, walkway, or driveway with paint, cement, or mortar and should accidentally spill this on your paver surface, you should clean it off right away before it has a chance to dry. Otherwise, it will stain your pavers.

Concrete pavers offer more design options (more colors and sizes), whereas clay pavers offer less maintenance. The cost is about the same. Concrete pavers tend to lay a bit snugger, making tighter joints and a more consistently flat surface. Clay pavers however hold their color much the use of chemical sealers. Although the concrete is died straight through the paver, the die still has a tendency to wash off the top over time.

For non-vehicular applications such as embankment stabilization, the maximum slope is determined by the angle of repose of the bedding sand, typically around 35 to 38 degrees. Power troweling provides a nice-looking, smooth finish on concrete floors. It creates a "hard cap" (crust) on the surface. But when overdone, the surface becomes shiny and the crust may be very thick (1/8" instead of 1/32"), which may lead to problems. (Uncured lumps pushed into the surface while still plastic will become stress points that may cause spider web cracking later. The thick hard cap may spall as the concrete underneath cures and shrinks.

Yes, you can put pavers over concrete. There can be cracks in the old pavement as long as it is still level and has not "heaved" up in any areas. Concrete makes a great base for our products. We will still need to retain the border of your project. You should also bare in mind that using pavers will raise the finish level of the pavement and as such may interfere with doors, gates and other surfaces that adjoin the area.

Pavers can be plowed or shoveled just like concrete or asphalt flooring. Do not chop or use sharp objects to break away any ice on the surface of your paved surface. Although salt will not damage your pavers, non-corrosive de-icing products are recommended

Absolutely! 12"-18" of compacted base material is recommended for residential driveways. A standard 2-3/8 thick paver can be used for light vehicular (cars and pickup truck) applications. A Colonial random pattern is most popular in these situations.
