WHY DIDN'T WE DESIGN THIS CIRCULAR SAW AROUND A 7-1/4" BLADE VS. 6-1/2"?

The Milwaukee V28 Lithium-Ion Power Tool Line Question and A...
With the entire V28 program, we wanted all the tools to have corded tool performance. A V28 powered 7-1/4" Circular Saw would have had similar performance to an 18V 6-1/2" Saw which many end-users believe isn't powerful enough for continuous cutting. Keeping the blade size at 6-1/2" allowed us to take the V28 Circular Saw to a new cordless performance level.

What causes the carbide-tipped cutters to chip or break off?

Tempest Technology Corporation
Chain speed and power are critical in the use of carbide tipped chain. The power head of the VentMaster Fire/Rescue Saw will supply plenty of torque to keep the speed of the chain at full speed providing it is tuned and operating properly. Air filters should be kept clean and fuel mixtures should be proper and fresh. It is essential when using a carbide-tipped chain to enter the cut with the power head at full throttle, keeping it at full throttle while making the cut and while exiting the cut.

Is solid carbide better than carbide tipped?

Welcome to Ballew Saw & Tool, Inc. - FAQs
No. Carbide tipped router bits provides carbide backed by harden steel for the body. Solid carbide is brittle, and bits made of solid carbide are more likely to break then steel bodies. This combination, of carbide and steel, provides the carbide cutting edge with out the high cost of solid carbide and a more durable and less costly body. Solid carbide has the advantage that it may be machined into profiles and patterns (spiral, fiberglass.

When is it best to use carbide tipped, solid carbide, and high speed steel?

Super Tool, Inc. Manufacturer of carbide tipped, solid carbi...
High speed steel should be used for shorter runs of parts made of non-ferrous materials and applications where machining conditions restrict the use of harder, more brittle tool substrates. Solid Carbide is most cost effective to use in smaller tools up to about 3/8" diameter in longer production runs. Depending on the carbide grade, solid carbide can be used for both steel and non-ferrous applications. Carbide tipped tools should be used for long production runs.

Can I cut pavers with my circular saw?

FAQ's
No. It is not recommended to use a circular saw to cut pavers. A brick splitter or a high-powered saw with a diamond blade is recommended. How safe is a diamond saw blade?

Diamond Tools (Canada)- FAQ
Since diamond saw blades cut by sort of "grinding" into the material and are not recommended for hi speed usage, they are not as dangerous as metal saws with teeth. Nonetheless, care must be taken not to abuse that fact specially with older or damaged blades, who may be more dangerous because they are chipped or rusted rather than because they are made out of diamond.

What type of blade do I need on my saw?

Frequently Asked Questions
A: The actual tooth design is not too important. A carbide tipped combination or crosscut blade works fine. However, a premium quality blade such as the 60 tooth Woodworker II by Forrest Manufacturing (800-733-7111) or equivalent will improve performance of any saw whether you are tapering hammers or cutting wood. Most important is that your blade be sharp and true.

ARE THE ACCESSORIES FOR THE 18V MILWAUKEE CIRCULAR SAW INTERCHANGEABLE WITH THE NEW V28 SAW?

The Milwaukee V28 Lithium-Ion Power Tool Line Question and A...
Yes, the new V28 Circular Saw uses the same rip fence, 6-1/2" carbide blades and new carrying case as the 18V model.

Some switches are used in many different applications, We make different switches for different critical applications.
