Archive files are a collection of related files packed together so they stay together. They have somewhat been replaced by librarys, but are still encountered often. The C or K at the end only differentiate the original packing program, they are otherwise identical. Some archives are self extracting, just rename them with a .com ending and execute them. Others must be unpacked with a program, unarc16.ark containing one of the most popular (in a self extracting archive).

A .lbr is a single file that contains a number of compressed files inside. The files must be extracted from the .lbr before the can be used. One very good library extract program is called lbrext.com. It's simple to use and uncrunches the files at the same time. EXAMPLE: This takes the lbrext.com file on 'A' to extract all the files in myfile.lbr on 'B' and put them on 'C' uncrunched. A simple 'lbrext' first will show you how to use the .com file. On Unix, try using GNU tar, if you're not already. (If you're using Linux, you're almost certainly using GNU tar.) For some reason we don't understand, it doesn't seem to unpack with classic Unix tar. Make sure you specify the -z option if you are not gunzipping it in advance: tar -xzf filename. You will need to get file uncompression software such as WinZip . WinZip is shareware, which means you will have to pay the software author if you decide to use it. These are gzip-compressed tar archives. If you have the GNU tar utility (included in all GNU/Linux distributions and many other versions of Unix including Mac OS X (Darwin), and available for MS-Windows as part of the free Cygwin software development package), you can unpack foo.tar.gz in one step: tar xfvz foo.tar.gz If you have another version of tar, it may not support the z option, and you may need to decompress using gzip before unpacking, like this: gzip -d foo.tar.gz tar xfv foo. In Henry Morris' book THE GENESIS RECORD, page 185, he notes that there were about 36,000 species of animals on the earth at the time of the Flood. This would mean no more than 75,000 species of animals on the ark when the extra "clean" animals are included. Flowers either arrive aqua-packed with a small plastic film reservoir of water or nutrient gel at their base or with their stems open. For best results we recommend that the flowers removed from their packaging and placed into a vase. Firstly if you are on linux you need to make sure your "sma" file contains linux style line-feed only characters at the end of each line, not windows style carriage return line-feeds. There are at least 7 ways to do this: Download Ravenous Bugblatter Beast's versions of compile and compile_all which can compile unconverted sma files.
