aptitude test is a test designed to measure a person's potential ability to perform an activity of a specialized kind.

First year applicants must complete the Dental Aptitude Test (DAT) administered by the Canadian Dental Association. Only the most recent DAT score will be used. The DAT must have been completed within the two years prior to the application deadline. NOTE: The DAT is conducted on 2 occasions each year – February and November. For the December 1 application deadline, the last acceptable DAT test date is the November prior; not the following February.

All students applying for the TechLEAP/ WebLEAP program with the internship option must take the Aptitude test. If you are not looking for an internship from the TechLEAP program, you would not need to take the aptitude test. However, we encourage people to take the aptitude test because it gives both prospective students, enrolled students, and the Program Director a baseline from which to advise students on their career options, and to make class schedule and career decisions.

A test administrator challenges a subject wearing a respirator with a test aerosol. The subject dons the respirator and a fit test hood. The test aerosol (such as saccharin or Bitrex) is sprayed inside the hood while the subject performs prescribed exercises. If the subject can taste the test agent, the respirator fails the test and another respirator must be tested. Prior to conducting the test, the administrator must determine if the subject can detect the test agent.

The only time you would retake the NJATC/AIR Aptitude test is if you do not at first qualify for the oral interview by achieving a score of five (5) or above on a stanine scale. You will not be eligible to retest for a period of six (6) months from the previous test date. Qualifying test scores are good for a period of two (2) years. If you reapply after that time period you will be rescheduled to retake the test.

No. For application purposes we will accept the American Dental Aptitude Test. We will consider the Reading Comprehension, Perceptual Ability, Academic Average, and Quantitative Reasoning sections of the ADA DAT. If you are admitted to the College of Dentistry, University of Saskatchewan, you will be required to take the Canadian DAT in the first term.

A good rule of thumb for checking a broiler house for tightness is to close all the inlets and doors in the house and turn on one tunnel fan and observe the static pressure difference between inside and outside of the house. The higher the static pressure difference the tighter the house is. Field tests and observations have shown many broiler houses to have a static pressure under this tightness test of under 0.03 to 0.05 inches of water (7.5-12.5 Pa).
