There are quite a few options for this but a reference of all available buttons/control names can be found in the button/control reference. No it should not, if you are using PHP, check so that you are not using nl2br() function in PHP on the posted contents. Paragraphs were invented for a reason. Try modifying paragraph margins without them using CSS and you see what I mean. Popular word processors use Paragraphs instead of BR unless you use shift+enter/return.

The toolbar is fully customizable since AiOS 0.6. The special support for other extensions like Sage and Scrapbook, which was a feature up to AiOS 0.5.6, is no more necessary. I removed the special support for all sidebar extensions due to this reason. Just right-click on the toolbar, choose Customize... and drag and drop the buttons of your choice to or from the toolbar. Voilá... You miss buttons for e.g.

To add or remove buttons click on the Ask.com logo and select "Add & Remove buttons" from the Toolbar Menu. This will open a secondary drop-down list with all the available Toolbar buttons. You can turn the buttons "on" or "off" by clicking on the item in the menu. A check mark to the left of the icons indicates which items are turned "on."

Controls are normally added to views during design time with the resource editor. If you want a dynamic appearance to your program (ie, controls appear, disappear, rearrange, etc) it's usually still easier to create them in the resource editor, but control their appearance with the positioning and appearance functions supplied by the CWnd functions (like ShowWindow).
