You can use the Newest Version of Winamp to play the files (with WMA codecs installed) or use the new version of Windows Media Player from Microsoft! A mp3 file recorded at 160kps and 44khz, converted to WMA will take half the space, and be BETTER quality than an mp3 at 128kps and 44khz. See similar questions...

What is WMA?

The Official #Mp3Cable Homepage
WMA(Windows Media Audio) is a file format developed by Microsoft that is similar to MP3s. It is rumored to have a smaller & better sound quality file than MP3. However, the file size will only be smaller if encoding is done below 96kbps. Anything above 96kbps will be an overkill for WMA. The average file size of WMA encoded at 96kbps is around 40-60% smaller than an MP3. We have tested lots of WMA files & found that WMA have lower bass quality & higher treble pitch. Yes it can. However some files play pretty slow, not sure why it happens (my H264 encodes work fine, 2-3 other files I tried play very slow). I'll have to do some tests to confirm what caused that. Remember that Xbox doesn't have the fastest CPU out there (Pentium 3 733MHz) so to be honest the nice playback of most H264 files impressed me. See similar questions...
