You may enroll any time. If we receive your enrollment form and payment by the end of the month and your eligibility can be verified, your coverage will begin on the first day of the following month.

The earliest we can make your coverage effective is the day following the postmark on the envelope containing your initial payment. Coverage goes into effect at 12:01 a.m. on that day. Coverage for most short-term plans can start as soon as 24 hours after the application is submitted. Coverage must begin within 30 days after the application is submitted.

Simply tell us how soon you would like coverage to start, select the short-term plan that meets your needs, and then apply on-line. In order for coverage to start immediately, you will need to make your first premium payment by supplying a valid credit card number within your application. All enrollment materials must be received at the Alliance Enrollment Processing Center on or before the last business day of the current month to be eligible for coverage on the first day of the next month. Any enrollment information received after the last business day of the current month will be processed for coverage the first day of the month that follows that next month. Check with your employer to verify your effective coverage date.

Coverage starts midnight after the date of payment received or the date requested which ever comes later.

Treatment of a pre-existing condition is a non-covered service until your Nebraska CHIP policy has been in effect for at least six months. However, this pre-existing condition exclusion may be waived. More information on exclusion waivers is available in the CHIP PPO Brochure on pages 3 and 4.

Coverage of your goods starts when the movers arrive at your home, whether it is for packing or for the actual move. Your goods are covered for a period of 90 days if stored at the moving company's storage facility (SIT - Storage In Transit), as well as for the move out of storage. Additional stay at the storage facility requires additional coverage. The coverage ceases when your move is complete and when the goods are delivered to your new home.
