Consistent with the policy of the Educational Testing Service, Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores taken more than 5 years prior to the date of application to the School of Education will not be accepted.

The Graduate School requires an official copy of your GRE score from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). ETS does not keep scores that are 5 years old or older. If the ETS cannot send an official copy of your test score, then you will need to retake the GRE.

In order to protect your privacy, we cannot divulge test scores over the phone because we cannot verify the identity of the caller.

If your TOEFL scores have expired, you must retake them. However, if you are currently a Purdue graduate student or you have graduated from a U.S. institution within the last two years, then there is no need to retake the TOEFL. IELTS result is the most conclusive evidence that DIMIA will accept as proof of your English language proficiency. Other exam/test scores may be accepted at the discretion of the case officer. It is possible to submit a pass in the Occupational English Test (OET) which is conducted by the National Language and Literacy Institute of Australia as this is an official alternative to IELTS.

The Test of English as a Foreign Language is required of all international applicants who received their undergraduate degree at a university or college in a country where English is not the official language. However, if at the time of application, you have already completed at least one year of full-time academic course work with grades of B or better at a U.S. university, you do not need to take the TOEFL. Instead, you must submit an official transcript from the U.S. university.
