Since the operator must trim the top thread, we feel it is better to simply push the single stitch button on our machine and bring the bobbin thread to the top side, where both top and bobbin threads can be trimmed simultaneously. The first is a straight stitch which should have a length of between 2 and 2.5 mm or between 10 -12 spi. Make sure you are sewing with 1/4" seam allowances, too. The second stitch is a zigzag, with a length of 2 and a width of 2, or if your machine doesn't use mm settings, it's a small zigzag. What is picking ?
ITCPicking is the fracture of coating layer. It occurs when tack of the ink exceeds the cohesive forces of coating on to the base paper or the printing pressure is too high to pick the coating or the paper surface. Piling occurs if the paper coating is too sensitive to fountain solution and the coating dissolves and gets deposited on the blanket.
