With the variety of different email programs that are available, we cannot provide all the details for each and every one of them. All of them should have the same basic required settings for accessing your email. These are: For SMTP access to send email using your SMTP server, set your Outgoing Mail Server to: mail.yourdomain.

You will need to make some minor changes to the server settings in your email program. Instructions are available on the configuration support page.

VPN allows you to use the same email configuration away that you use on campus. See Install and Configure Eudora.

If you choose not to use VPN from off-campus and still want to send email through your own broadband provider, you will need to configure your mail client settings as described in the document Configuring Eudora Email When Off-campus. Some incidents require immediate action. You can't wait until someone checks the log files, you need to get notified on your pager right away. If you have AOL 7.0 or newer, you can configure it to work with our software. However, you must first make AOL the Windows default e-mail program. In the 'Preferences' dialog, click on the 'Association' link to select 'America Online' as your preferred application for web browsing, e-mail and newsgroups. This should make AOL your default program for e-mail, Internet browsing, and accessing newsgroups. Once you've done that, you should be able to transmit messages directly from our software.
