When you sign a plea of not guilty, you will be given the option of a trial before the judge or a jury trial. For a trial by judge you will need to fill out a personal bond which states that you shall appear in court on the date of your trial. If you fail to appear, you will be fined double the amount of your original fine plus court cost.
