In order to swing dance, you've got to be able to spin and slide on the dance floor, but still be able to maintain control so you don't fall over! One of the easiest ways to do this when dancing in Cowling Dance Studio is to simply dance in your socks. However, the Cowling floor is not always the cleanest, and socks don't give your feet any padding against the hard wood floor. Also, if you want to dance anywhere that isn't Cowling, you're probably going to to want to be wearing shoes.

Most Red Rock 'n Llamas trips pass through a wide variety of terrain including: dry, sandy desert hiking; walking over and up and down slickrock areas; and multiple creek and river crossings. This makes the choice of footwear confusing for some people. Due to this wide variety of conditions our guides all tend to wear sports sandals to hike in (Tevas, Chacos, etc.) which have rubber soles and nylon straps. Some people prefer to wear socks with their sandals, some don't.

Campers should have a variety of cleats for their plant foot- this will allow them to utilize their time at camp and not worry about the field conditions. We suggest a molded bottom, a screw in cleat and a flat sole shoe for indoor kicking in case of rain. If you do not have these, just come with what you have.

For the safety of our guests, we encourage all guests to wear closed toe shoes when visiting Paradise Park. Guests wearing sandals are not permitted to ride the go karts, climb the rock wall, or use the batting cages. Shoes are required to be worn inside the foam factory as well. Paradise Park accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit cards, as well as personal checks with proper identification.

A. We recommend athletic type shoes. Although, most shoes can be worn as long as they comfortably fit both the brace and your foot. However, you must not change the heel height of the shoe as it will change the function of the brace.

Our facility is indoors, so wear tennis shoes. Just because we're indoors, though, doesn't mean we don't get tough. Make sure your shoes are comfortable and designed for athletic purposes. No sandals allowed!

Usually not. If your shoe fits you properly there is usually room for the orthotic. If you wear a lot of different style shoes you may want to get more than one pair (second pairs cost 1/3 less).

Despite the rough terrain and many miles of cross country travel, you will probably be much better off in running shoes, although one of the modern lug soled running/hiking shoe hybrids might not be an unreasonable choice. I usually wear my running shoes when I go backpacking anyway. However, you'll want to pack several pairs of whatever you wear, and bring lots of extra socks. Even in '94, a very dry year, this was a foot-soaking course.

ViscoSpot has about a ¼ lift at the back of the heel. They fit best in sports or casual shoes. They may not work well in heels, as they may push the heel out of the shoe and put too much pressure on the toes.

I do not have a single brand or type that I prefer. In fact, once I had to wear a pair of shoes purchased the night before the race as I had forgotten my shoes at home. I ran my fastest marathon of the year up to that point that day.

They will often be treated as a “local celebrity,” and with that status often comes some degree of public scrutiny. Our titleholders are expected to uphold the image of the Miss America system, and behave accordingly in public.
