Sidewalk maintenance is the responsibility of fronting property owners. You may, however, call 678-3963 to request the placement of an asphalt patch. Concrete repairs will later be made at the expense of the fronting property owner.

Property owners are responsible for the repair and maintenance of the sidewalks adjacent to their homes. The City of Mishawaka offers a Curb and Sidewalk Program, which was instituted in 1986 to encourage single-family homeowners to repair or replace the deteriorated public curb and sidewalks adjacent to their property. This program provides for a 50/50 split of the repair cost of curbs, sidewalks and drive approaches between the homeowner and the city.

Current City policy does not enforce sidewalk shovelling by the property owners in front of their properties. City By-law 68-12 does provide for property owners keeping the sidewalks on certain streets in the downtown area free from snow and ice. The City is currently reviewing this item and any updates will be provided.

Under State law, the property owner is responsible for the repair and maintenance of sidewalks. Any property owner, who fails to maintain their sidewalk in a safe condition, is considered negligent in their duties as a property owner and is liable for injuries which may occur due to it's lack of maintenance. It is further required that property owners or renters of property within the City of Brookings shovel the snow from their sidewalk to allow for pedestrian passage.

The line into the house is called the houseline. The houseline is the homeowner's responsibility to maintain.

First try adjusting the rubber posts at each corner of the hatch by screwing them in in 1/2 turn increments. This will allow the hatch to close tighter thereby forming a better seal at the weather stripping. If this doesn't seem to work, then check with your dealer as there's a Technical Service Bulletin (#531032) which calls for adding a sealer to the weather stripping carrier.

Water from the air condition is discharged out through a drainage pipe that is run from the fan coil unit to the nearest drain. Water will start to leak from the fan coil if the drainage pipe is clogged with dirt. This can also happen when the drainage pipe that is run between the fan coil unit to the drain does not have a proper gradient - poor installation. Please contact qualified service technician to attend to your air conditioner.

A normal air conditioner will have water condensate in the indoor fancoil and discharge through a draining pipe to the nearest drain. Water will start to leak when the drainage piping is clogged / choked.

If the water control valve inside your home or business is leaking, it is the responsibility of the owner to make necessary repairs. If shut off at the curb is required to make repairs, please contact City Hall at 772-7657 to make arrangements.

These so called perforators have tiny invisible one way valves within them. If any of these valves do not function properly, blood flows backwards, from the big veins to the small veins. This gradually increases pressure in the small veins, making them larger and twisted. Anytime varicose veins are treated, whether by surgery (which is called complete stripping) or by any other method, the leaks have to be identified and controlled.

Check with your dealer as there's a Technical Service Bulletin (#631022) which calls for replacement of the weather stripping around the door.

Over time, the rubber hose can start leaking from vibration or soften from the pressure of the hose. We have not found a screw clamp that will work because the hose is small and the screw clamp tends to pinch the hose on the side, causing it to leak. The best solution is to remove an inch of the hose to get a fresh end, install two small tie wraps, and pull them tight without the hose connected.

Each residence has a smaller pipe called, a service line, that supplies its water.
