A-“Coming From Your Heart” covers a wide gamut of areas that couples commonly struggle with. You will learn various exercises to help you manage your emotional reactivity around stressful topics. So instead of defaulting to withdrawal, blaming, yelling, etc, you’ll be shown how to use effective alternatives. The tools taught at the retreat are cutting-edge, innovative techniques.

Most of the time, you will sit with the rest of the couples and listen to Dr. Pearson, who is an entertaining storyteller and inspiring teacher. However, several times throughout the weekend you will have the opportunity to practice the innovative communication exercises described in the large group setting. Some couples stay with family or friends in the area, which works fine since the evening hours are not scheduled. Others prefer to stay in hotels. Our singular emphasis is solitude. We focus all our energies on making it possible for you to enter the solitude quickly and completely. We prepare the cottage for you in every way to welcome you. We clean it and make the bed so all you need to do when you arrive is put your perishables in the refrigerator. Yes, if a couple is not already seeing someone else, I highly recommend that they meet with me prior to the workshop. The best way to get in touch with me is to fill out the "registration for an initial consult" form and list several times that might work in your schedule. Many patients have been personally touched or are familiar with someone who has had a craniotomy and believe that paralysis or speech difficulty are the only outcomes from craniotomy. They are frequently unaware or don't realize that an initial, life-threatening cause, such as a cancerous tumor or collection of blood between the layers of membranes covering the brain, leads to that craniotomy.
