Your trash is picked up at curbside once each week by the contractor, Hiltz Disposal; the collection day depends on where you live. If you don’t know which day, call the Public Works at 781-438-0760. All trash needs to be placed at curbside by 7:00 AM on the pickup day, as the trucks will not return for any trash that was not already out. Please be careful if you put trash out the night before, since animals may tear open bags or get into trash barrels during the night.

Answer: Were your trash and recycling bins at the curb BEFORE 7:00am on your specified day? If not, please be sure to have everything out at the curb by 7:00am. Was your trash in White Windham Trash Bags? If not, you can pick them up at many stores in Windham also at The Town Office or Public Works. Also if your recycling bin was left, check to be sure there isn't anything in the bin that should not be there. Please keep your Windham trash bags separated from the recycle bin.

Occasionally residents’ trash/recycling is overlooked. If this situation occurs for you, simply call the Department of Public works as soon as you notice at 781-438-0760, and we will contact the supervisor. Please be advised, any rubbish or recycling that was put out after 7:00 a.m. will not be picked up until the following scheduled pickup. There is no town facility in Stoneham to drop off trash. Any large item, example, mattress and box spring, a couch, chair, etc.

The Bureau of Sanitation, Department of Public Works is the city entity that is responsible for the collection and disposal of all large trash items in the City of Los Angeles. Please call the Town Manager’s office and we will contact the trash haulers and ask them to go back out and pick up your trash.

Two large items such as a couch, chair, or mattress may be disposed of each week with your regular trash pick-up. The item should be placed wherever you place your regular trash for pick-up. Items containing freon, such as a refrigerator or freezer must have the freon properly removed by a refrigeration service and the certificate of removal must be provided to Allied Waste, our contract trash hauler, before they will pick such items up.

All items must be set out by 7:00am on your collection day, or as early as 4:00pm the day before. Routes can change at any time and so can your pickup time. If there is a rejection sticker, take note of why it was rejected and make sure that it is properly prepared for next week's pick up. If your trash/recycling/yard waste was missed and was properly prepared, contact Customer Service at 617-796-1000 to give the address of the missed pick up.

All containers/trash/recyclables must be out on the curb by 7 am on the morning of your regularly scheduled collection day.
