You can use a candle holder, a ceramic container, or a glass dish.  We suggest covering any dishes you use in aluminum foil for easy clean-up. Whatever you choose to hold the candle, it must be fireproof, and it must hold or contain the candle securely until it is burned all the way out.

One hour per inch of candle container diameter. For Example, if you have a 3 inch diameter container, burn the candle for 3 hours, then extinguish. Pillars have a memory! The first time you burn your pillar, set its memory by leaving it burning one hour for every inch of diameter.
