The Photo Gallery is designed for management of photos. The GIF format is not widely used for photos, but we included limited support for it due to the fact that some users have photos in this format. However, we did not implement the animation feature. You can use Internet Explorer to view your animated GIF files.

eCopy does not recommend the use of animated gif images for connector buttons. Animated gifs require significant imaging resources on the MEAP -enabled device and degrade overall performance. If using the Remote logon feature, all users excluding Domain Administrators, must be explicitly added to the users list within Action>Display User within the Services Manager.

In the Windows Live Photo Gallery, QuickTime videos are displayed if you have QuickTime installed. However, in the Windows Vista Photo Gallery there is no compatible codec available for Quicktime video files, so this is not yet possible. You can insert your animated GIF files into PowerPoint by selecting Insert / Picture / From File from the menu in PowerPoint, just like you would place any other picture file in your slideshow. Currently, no version of PowerPoint properly plays all animated GIFs like your web browser does. This is not a defect of Morpheus Photo Morpher or the animated GIFs it creates, but simply that PowerPoint does not properly obey the looping information stored in any GIF file.

This was a useful technique in Internotes Web Publisher and TILE. You would store all the special GIF and JPEG files as attachments in the Using document for a database. When the web site was generated, these files would then be detached and placed in the same directory. The choice of JPEG format over GIF for the larger images was made for two different reasons. The first is a matter of size. In most cases, the JPEG images are smaller. In order to reduce the load on both our server machine as well as on the network and users machine, it was felt that using JPEG compression was a reasonable alternative. It preserves most of the original image, but minimizes the file sizes. The second consideration was one of color depth.

You must be running as an application; see Question 2, above. Use the EMDS Configurator to generate your Image menus under the Geographical menu and tie in your Image files. Remember to store them in the localConfig directory in your EMDS install directory.

The reason that the Photo Gallery rotates on import, but not after that (unless the user explicitly rotates a file), is because there are a number of applications that don't correctly update the photo metadata after rotating. This metadata is supposed to reflect the state of the photo, but if the photo is rotated without updating this metadata, another application using this metadata to determine whether or not to rotate it will incorrectly rotate the photo.

You need to manually get libgif and libjpeg and compile and install them on your system. They will install by default in /usr/local/lib, so once they're installed, you have to make sure that LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib or put /usr/local/lib in your ld.so configuration file. In addition, you also have to remove libgif.* and libjpeg.* from your /usr/lib directory, as these will be found first (and even if you finagle ld.

Quest Sheebils are kept up-to-date using PHP image creation/rendering. It is because of this that Sheebils aren't able to move. I'm pretty sure that everyone would rather be able to quickly type in their amount of gold from a web site than take 20 minutes to update the QS in an image creation program every time they get a major gold increase. SIMM 2.0 contains a new utility for saving TIFF images of the model window. This utility can save either a single image or a sequence of them (e.g., to capture an entire motion sequence). Once you have the set of TIFF images, you can use a third-party application to assemble them into an MPEG or Quicktime movie, or an animated GIF. Determine the number of frames that you wish to work with. From this number, choose a reasonable angle increment value.
